Nausea, Blood Work

Rachael slept most of the night.  She really got into a deep sleep after about 2:00 am.  Dr. Simon held her night time meds until we can figure out what is going on.  To recap, Rachael vomited several times yesterday and when done had occasional dry heaves.  The good in all this is that she went the whole night without the meds to slow her heart beat yet maintained a normal resting heart rate.  She did have minor spasms during the night.  This morning she will get her muscle relaxers and pain meds.  She looked pretty good this morning but was very tired.  Nancy spent the night at Heartland and I popped in about 3:45 AM because I missed her.

Rachael will get some blood work today to see if we can get to the bottom of her nausea.  We are not feeding her the regular liquified foods that she has been eating.  We are giving her juice until we are confident she can handle the food.

Keep praying that this passes soon.  We know this is just another step, another trial within trials.  How do folks do this without the Lord? We have the higher rock and to him we cling!

Don't forget to give Nancy a text for her birthday today.  941-323-6101

Happy Birthday, Rachael...

We are keeping you in our prayers. While our earthly birthdays are important, even more important are our spiritual birthdays, so please accept my sincere congratulations for having two birthdays, something only believers in Christ have. And because we do, we are very special in His sight. So please know that we are praying for your health, and commiting you to our Lord, who is not only our Savior, but the Great Physician as well. So Happy Birthday, twice!

Rachael this is just one more thing you can get through with the Lord. He's totally holding your hand in all of this! I'm with you in spirit girl...I have a stomach bug right now that just isn't going away. Here are some of the things I do to distract myself from the nausea, and maybe they'll help you too. Sometimes I count things just to focus on something else, like the amount of letters in words. For example, h-e-a-v-e-n. It has 6 letters. Haha this probably seems silly, but it works for me! I also try to bring to mind the verses I know and recite them. That's a little harder to do but it's very comforting. Something that also really helps is listening to the Psalms. There's this Bible app for the blackberry, and I think you can get it on the iphone/itouch too. It has an audio recording for every chapter of the Bible, so you can just press play and let it go through the Psalms from ch 1. It was very encouraging for me last night when I was unable to sleep & felt gross.

Totally praying for you. I love you so much!

Ps I found this really triumphant verse tonight. It pumped me up!
"We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.  We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ." 2 cor 10:3-5

Praying that you have a better night of sleep tonight<3
